Export NOC (No Objection Certificate)
A CDSCO clearance required for new, unapproved, banned or NDPS-scheduled drugs before they can be exported.
Definition
An Export NOC is a No Objection Certificate issued by the Central Drugs Standard Control Organisation (CDSCO), required for drugs that are new, unapproved in India but legal in the destination, banned in India under section 26A, or scheduled under the NDPS Act. It is filed online through the SUGAM portal.
Why It Matters
Not every product needs one — most standard, approved formulations are freely exportable under a wholesale licence and RCMC alone. Understanding whether a specific product falls into the NOC-required category is a routine part of assessing an enquiry.
