Schedule H1

A higher-control subset of prescription-only drugs — including certain antibiotics and anti-TB drugs — requiring a separate pharmacy register.

Definition

Schedule H1 covers a higher-control subset of prescription drugs, including third- and fourth-generation antibiotics, anti-TB drugs and some psychotropics. Dispensing pharmacies must maintain a separate H1 register, retained for three years.

Why It Matters

H1 status signals additional record-keeping obligations that flow through the supply chain, even though it does not itself change export eligibility.
